As we adjust to the unfolding impacts of COVID-19, many Australians have suddenly found themselves working from home indefinitely. This significant change to daily life offers a timely opportunity for us as chiropractors to help educate the public around posture and their spinal health.
There are a number of important ergonomic considerations when setting up a workspace at home which include:
setting up a designated workspace;
using an office chair that supports your spine; and
using a separate keyboard and mouse to allow a computer to be at eye level.
To help build positive spinal health habits as Australians adapt to a new working environment, we are reminded to take frequent breaks and to stretch our spine, in addition to staying active, maintaining a routine and finding time to detox from technology at the end of each workday.
If you would like to have the ergonomics of your home or office workspace assessed remotely by Joe, please call us at the clinic on 9455 3000 or you can contact Joe on his mobile (0415 393 282) and we will explain the process to you. The fee for this service, which would normally cost $85, will be waived until the end of June, 2020.
